Dr. Alex Cherniss |
In conjunction with the Board of Education’s ongoing determination that schools within the San Marino Unified School District be upgraded, repaired, expanded, improved and better equipped in a fiscally prudent manner, as well as to enable the District to improve student safety and campus security, this will be a first reading of Resolution No. 11 - “Resolution of the Board of Education of the San Marino Unified School District of the County of Los Angeles, California Ordering an Election to Authorize the Issuance of General Obligation Bonds, Establishing Specifications of the Election Order, and Requesting Consolidation with other Elections Occurring on June 5, 2018,” to authorize the Board to order an election under Proposition 39 to be consolidated with elections to be held on June 5, 2018. The District has completed a comprehensive Facilities Needs Assessment Report to identify the most pressing needs in each of the District’s schools and has received information from its architectural, legal, and fiscal consultants, and input from its communication advisors, regarding the scope of a general obligation bond measure and the preparation of a project list to provide high quality, safe, secure and up-to-date classrooms, labs and technology education and facilities to support its continued achievement in academics, arts, and athletics, such that the District remains among the highest performing school districts in California.
