7.a. Public Hearing and Comment on the Second Reading of Proposed Resolution Calling for an Election to Approve Renewal of the District's Education Parcel Tax (Information Item)

A Public Hearing on Resolution No. 12 - 2018-19 Resolution of the Board of Education of the San Marino Unified School District Calling for an Election for Voter Approval to Renew an Education Parcel Tax on May 14, 2019 Establishing Specifications of the Election Order. This is a Second Reading. 

Note that such Election will only proceed if the District’s Measure R Election to renew the District’s education parcel tax is not approved by at least two-thirds of voters in the District at the election scheduled on February 26, 2019.

It is recommended that the Board of Education approve the District's preliminary plan for the Low Performing Student Block Grant.

The District is eligible to receive grant funding totaling $43,473 to support and assist students who are low performing. There are approximately 22 students identified that qualify for services associated with this funding. The proposed plan (attached) would provide for supplemental services for the identified students. If approved by the Board of Education, the application will be submitted to the California Department of Education.
