The Board of Education has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public's right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board about a Closed Session matter, you complete a REQUEST TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT card and submit it to the Assistant to the Superintendent at the side table at this time. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment.

The Brown Act prohibits Board members from discussing or taking action on non-agenda items. If you would like to speak to the Board about a topic that IS on the agenda, please fill out the card and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent now or no later than when the agenda topic is called by the Board President. The Board will not hear Public Comment once discussion of the particular agenda topic by the Board has begun. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. It is recommended that the Board of Education adopt Resolution No. 15, authorizing the District to submit its facilities grant application to the Office of Public School Construction for the "Full-Day Kindergarten Facilities Grant" for Carver Elementary School and Valentine Elementary School.
