The Board of Education has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public's right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board about a Closed Session matter, you complete a REQUEST TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT card and submit it to the Assistant to the Superintendent at the side table at this time. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b), the Board will meet with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources to discuss the Discipline, Dismissal, and/or Release of Public Employees.

The Brown Act prohibits Board members from discussing or taking action on non-agenda items. If you would like to speak to the Board about a topic that IS on the agenda, please fill out the card and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent now or no later than when the agenda topic is called by the Board President. The Board will not hear Public Comment once discussion of the particular agenda topic by the Board has begun. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. It is recommended that the Board of Education approve a new Parking Agreement (“Agreement”) with the City of San Marino (“City”), renewing the City’s parking rights pursuant to the original Parking Agreement (“Original Agreement”) that has expired.

It is recommended that the Board of Education determine an election date and the amount of the potential bond sizing.
The Board of Education will continue its discussions in planning for a potential general obligation bond to finance the District’s capital facilities needs. A First Reading of a proposed resolution calling for a potential general obligation bond to finance capital facilities needs and project will be presented.

The State Board of Education approved standards for the local indicators that support local educational agencies in measuring and reporting their progress within the appropriate priority area. The State Board requires that all districts measure progress on the local indicator based on locally available information, report the results to the local governing board at a regularly scheduled meeting of the local governing board, and report the results to all stakeholders and the public through the California School Dashboard.
