The Board of Education has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public's right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board about a Closed Session matter, you complete a REQUEST TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT card and submit it to the Assistant to the Superintendent at the side table at this time. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b), the Board will meet with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources to discuss the Discipline, Dismissal, and/or Release of Public Employees.

If you would like to speak to the Board about a topic that IS on the agenda, please fill out the card and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent now or no later than when the agenda topic is called by the Board President. The Board will not hear Public Comment once discussion of the particular agenda topic by the Board has begun. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Signatures of persons authorized to sign orders drawn on the funds of the school district and notices of employment must be verified by the Board. It is proposed that District forms and other documents are approved when properly endorsed by any two of the following individuals: Board of Education, Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent - Human Resources, Executive Director of Curriculum and Instruction, Chief Technology Officer, Director of Accounting, Director of Food Services, Director of Special Education, Purchasing Manager, Maintenance and Operation Manager. In accordance with the provisions of Section 35120 (a)(5) of the California Education Code, Board members for a district of less than 10,000 ADA and more than 1,000 ADA are entitled to receive a maximum of $240 compensation per month. The Board will be asked to determine the amount of compensation members will receive for their services.

On February 25, 2019, the Board of Education approved an interfund transfer of $838,000 from the Cash Flow Fund 17.2 to the Capital Projects and Improvement Fund 40.0 for construction of the Barth Athletics Complex (BAC), for such time until State School Facilities Program (SFP) funding for the project were received.
With the close-out of the Barth Athletics Complex project, the funds previously transferred from the Cash Flow Fund are no longer needed to complete the BAC project. Discussion/Action
