The Board of Education has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public's right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board about any matter, you complete a REQUEST TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT card, which has instructions on the back of the card. If you would like to speak to the Board about a matter that is NOT on the agenda, please fill out that card now and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent. The Brown Act prohibits Board members from discussing or taking action on non-agenda items. If you would like to speak to the Board about a topic that IS on the agenda, please fill out the card and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent now or no later than when the agenda topic is called by the Board President. The Board will not hear Public Comment once discussion of the particular agenda topic by the Board has begun. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment or to remove the item from the agenda to be discussed at a later regular or special Board meeting.
