The Board of Education has adopted Board Policy 9323(b) to ensure the public's right to be heard in any matters pertaining to the San Marino Unified School District. We respectfully request that if you would like to address the Board about a Closed Session matter, you complete a REQUEST TO SUBMIT PUBLIC COMMENT card and submit it to the Assistant to the Superintendent at the side table at this time. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment.

Pursuant to Government Code Section 54957(b)(1), the Board will meet with the Superintendent and Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources to discuss the Discipline, Dismissal, and/or Release of Public Employees.

The Brown Act prohibits Board members from discussing or taking action on non-agenda items. If you would like to speak to the Board about a topic that IS on the agenda, please fill out the card and hand it to the Assistant to the Superintendent now or no later than when the agenda topic is called by the Board President. The Board will not hear Public Comment once discussion of the particular agenda topic by the Board has begun. The President of the Board will invite speakers to the podium to address the Board at the appropriate time. Five minutes may be allotted to each speaker and a maximum of 20 minutes to each subject matter; however, in the event there are more than four speakers on the same subject matter, the Board President retains the discretion to adjust and limit the time allocated to each speaker to ensure that all wishing to speak will be heard within the 20-minute allotment or to remove the item from the agenda to be discussed at a later regular or special Board meeting.

The San Marino High School Speech and Debate team and its head coach, Matthew Slimp, will be recognized and celebrated by the District for winning their 19th Southern California Debate League Overall Sweepstakes Trophy during this year's competition season.

The Superintendent will provide an update to the Board about the District's preparedness related to COVID-19, including the efforts its been taking to combat the spread of COVID-19 in the San Marino community, as well as the preparations the District is making should COVID-19 impact San Marino Unified Schools.

Order of Election of the San Marino Unified School District of Los Angeles County, California. RESOLUTION ORDERING GOVERNING BOARD MEMBER ELECTION RESOLVED that pursuant to Education Code (EC) §5000-5030, the Los Angeles County Superintendent of Schools (County Superintendent) is hereby ORDERED to call an election for the purpose, and in accordance with the designations contained in the following specifications of the Election Order made under the authority of EC §5302, §5304, and §5322. The election shall be held on Tuesday, November 3, 2020. The polling hours shall be from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. The purpose of the election is to submit to the voters of the District the question of whether two (2) members shall be elected to the Governing Board of the San Marino Unified School District.
